RWBY FANTART: Telling a story

Something I don't do very often; tell a story in a picture.  Mainly because I don't get enough ideas that can fit in a single panel - and I'm not particularly good at comics.
Here I just got the character posing perfect, which kept me motivated.

RWBY

A dabble at fan art again,  since I haven't done any in a while.  also learning the joy's of back-lighting.

Light test

Some old DnD characters - thought I'd try some cool poses - and apparently see how I handle moving light sources...

Pose work - DnD

Another random fantasy character design piece - with DnD inspiration.  mostly just working on my pose work recently.

Team Hardcastle

Back to the more cyberpunk sort of things.  This our team in the corporation RPG game that i'm in this year, and our not so conservative mish-mash of characters.
The company we're working for is EI, which is the 'all the money, we don't' care about collateral damage' corporation, which is gonna be fin to play with.

Elf Traveler

Thought I don't do enough setting work, and had this sort of image in my head.  Background isn't great, landscape was never my forte, but it's pretty good in it's characatur-esque way.

Barbarian Mage

just a character piece I did; an Elf-Orc battlemage (also spottable in one of the monochrome sketch batches)

Odd Extras

if you hadn't noticed, I've been doing a lot of art dumping, transferring almost everything from Devientart to here.  These are the few bit's that didn't really have a home in any of the other groups, but I think are good enough for a portfolio.

This is a character based of the cambian race in Profound Decisions Empire Festival LARP (Live Action RolePlaying)

This is a prince, I was triyng out a sketchy shading style.

Fan Art

A few fan-art pieces I did in the last year or so, during batches of artist-block.  They are in here, as I feel they are still good show's of my artistic capability.

The characters below belong to their respective franchises and do not belong to me.

Rogue (X-Men: Evolution)

Elza (Frozen)

Trash can scene (Just call Saul)

(This is a screen study of a scene in episode 1, I like the lighting and angle of the shot)

Colour Test

This was a piece I did that was a colour test for the RWBY RPG pictures, Most of the shading is done though free-selections and the gradient tool in Photoshop.  She ended up looking a bit like Yang from RWBY as well.

'Adoptable' designs

This is more my 'I just feel like designing a costume or character' lazy day style.  I call them "adoptable's" as they are of a similar style as to most adoptable packs on devientart, though I have no intention of fiddling with DA's points system to work out how one adopts a character.

These are some of the better examples of them, when I feel like drawing an elf or an armoured character, but don't feel like toiling over anatomy for several hours

This one is quite old now, but the cloths designs are still all right.  I feel they would a looked better cell-shaded now than smooth.  I had yet to properly learn now to shade metal as well.

This one's the newest, with a slight divine undertone.

This was me testing out a shading style, a stark black-white option.

Zombiecide Commission

For a large, 20-player game of Zombiecide that a friend was doing for our local Roleplay society (DURPS), every person who entered would get a personalised zombiecide character for fighting the hoards, each getting their own character card for the event.  I did the character designs for these cards.  Bellow are the line-up's of each of the teams that entered, to show their character designs.

When I miraculously got all the designs done with a day in advance, I created a character for the man running the game,

Bellow are some of the characters on their Zombiecide Cards. (the backgrounds and layout are attributed to Guillotine Games) (text was made by a friend, as I didn't have time to sit and type up everyones skills)

(Above are some fairly stark references to comicbook character-likeness and 40k-styled armour, as well as a few other game/pop-culture references.  Thor belongs to Marvel, and any other referencing belongs to it's umbrella companies, likeness was only inspired, not copied, please don't sue me)

Prince

A character I made up, when I needed to draw.

Nikki

A design I did later for Nikki, more army style stuff.  Was part of 'fight game' a friend was designing.

And some other designs from the same game. mostly different versions for a few of the characters.

Tabletop Role-Play inspired

This is images that we're created with inspiration from a tabletop RPG I have played with friends, based on popular game or web-series.

Daragonage RP
This is a 'party portrait' of the player party in the tabletop roleplay that is based in the world of Thedas(The Dragon Age Setting), therefore the clothing styles and characters are heavily inspired by what would be present in that world.

RWBY RP
Based off the rooster teeth web-series, with it's over-the-top weapons and action sequences, below are some of the player characters in the role-play at their most awesome.

DnD Eberron
My first DnD character.  and some of the design changes she went with through during the Roleplay.

AyaCon - Character Designs

My friend asked me to do the character designs for a RPG game he was making in his spare time.  never totally got off the floor, but briefs were given for the more important characters.  The plot was a guy who goes to an Anime Convention, and weird stuff starts happening.

Ark (Protagonist)
Ark is the generic protagonist. The brief was to make a character that wasn't obviously a person who'd be at an anime convention, so I tried to keep him simple.

Dia
A cospalyer at the Convention, and one of the first characters that Ark meets. She's supposed to be shy so I went with a Japanese schoolgirl outfit.

The Queen
The self proclaimed queen of Cosplay, is one of the villeins.  Due to her title, I gave her luxurious, well made royal gowns.

Miscellaneous
These are doodles of some less-inclusive characters, and some of the standard monsters(Mob's) the player would fight in the game.

(Exception Dark Ark, who is the main villain)

These are designs for the pixle-sized mob's that would be walking around in the setting.

Animation

DELTA48

Here is my final storyboard for the trailer I had planned for my final year, if I'd had more time and hands on deck to finish it.

This is the one scene I actually managed to get finished.  thanks to Saara Vakiparta for the background.

ANIMATION SHOW REAL
My show real for  the degree show.

Delta48 Work (Character Design)

My final year project at university, that got shelved around Christmas (too much to do, not enough hands to do it)  I had lots of character design work dome by that point, a storyboard and one animated scene.

CHARACTER SIZE COMPARISON
A Size comparison of all the characters in the original animation.  The Director and Governor would wound themselves unused,  Omega can't stand either, but I had him stand to show the size difference he had with all other characters.

DELTA48 (NIKKI)
The main character for the animation I was planning.

I made up construction guides for Delta.  Not the best, I'd shelved the idea before I'd made finalised ones.

OMEGA
In the original animation I planned I wanted to have a fight scene between Delta and Omega.  Eventually that plan found itself shelved for a trailer, but I already had the character designed.

Construction for Omega as well.
